Minutes before the team’s home opener, the Montreal Canadiens have announced that they have signed Martin Lapointe to a contract extension.
The Canadiens have agreed on a three-year contract extension (2021-22 to 2023-24) with Martin Lapointe.

He will remain the director of player personnel.
