Montreal Canadiens Sign Goaltender Yann Danis

The Montreal Canadiens announced today that goaltender Yann Danis has signed with the organization. Danis signed a one year contract, which is a one-way AHL deal with the St. John’s Ice Caps.

Danis was originally signed with the Montreal Canadiens club in 2004 after a four year College career. The native of St. Jerome, Quebec posted save percentages of .938, .929 and .942 in his last three years with Brown University.

He was a Hobey Baker Award finalist in 2004, and won the NCAA Goaltender of the Year Award. Danis has played 55 career games in the NHL, and recorded a shutout in his first ever start while still a member of the Canadiens.
