We finally know why Jake Evans didn’t play in the final two games for the Laval Rocket. The Montreal Canadiens signed the 2014 seventh-round pick after his Notre Dame Fighting Irish lost the championship game of the Frozen Four. Evans was huge in that tournament, but it wasn’t enough to finish the climb to the top.
Many expected the 21-year-old to play one of the two final games in the AHL to get a sniff of the professional hockey world, but that wasn’t the case. It was later revealed that he was nursing some kind of injury.
