MONTREAL - Al Montoya will be sporting the same number he's worn his entire career next season, just with brand new colors on his jersey.

Montoya, who is making his fifth career stop in the NHL, has previously worn No. 35 with the Coyotes, Islanders, Jets, and Panthers.

He will become the 11th player in Canadiens franchise history to wear No. 35. The first was Mike McPhee, who wore it between 1983 and 1992.

More recently, goaltenders Dustin Tokarski and Alex Auld wore No. 35. Montoya will be the fifth goaltender to do so, also joining Andy Moog and Stephane Fiset.
