For the first time since the 2016-’17 season began, the Canadiens are looking UP at the Atlantic Division leaders. Ottawa’s 4-2 win over mighty Colorado Saturday night lifted the Senators past the Canadiens into first place.
Both teams have 84 points. But Ottawa has played one game less than the Canadiens and has more wins in regulation time.
Climbing back into the top spot will be a challenge Sunday in Edmonton.
The Oilers, coming off a Friday night Shootout loss to Pittsburgh, are battling Calgary and Anaheim for playoff seedings in the Pacific Division.
