Les Canadiennes add Danièle Sauvageau to coaching staff

Danièle Sauvageau is one of the top coaches in women’s hockey history, and today it was announced she will be added to Les Canadiennes’ coaching staff as an associate coach alongside Caroline Ouellette.

They, along with Lisa-Marie Breton-Lebreux and Valerie Bois will make up the Canadiennes’ first all-female coaching staff since 2009.

Sauvageau was an assistant for the 1998 Canadian Olympic team at the Nagano Olympics (under current Calgary Inferno head coach Shannon Miller) and then was head coach and general manager for the 2002 team that won the country’s first Olympic Gold Medal in women’s hockey and started a stretch of four straight golds.
