Karl Alzner opts out of participating in Canadiens’ qualifiers

Tonight it was announced that Karl Alzner will not be joining the Montreal Canadiens in Phase 3, and will not be on the roster for the qualifiiers, or Stanley Cup Playoffs should the Habs advance that far.

Alzner had played just four games with the NHL club in 2019-20, spending the rest of the time as an alternate captain in the AHL with the Laval Rocket. He had no points with the Habs, but 13 in 53 games with the minor-league affiliate.

With Alzner’s status confirmed, that leaves just Max Domi and Brett Kulak as players yet to arrive at the Habs’ practice facility.
