Remember the days when Montreal mayor Jean Drapeau would boast arrogantly that the Stanley Cup parade would take the usual route through the city?

These days, the Canadiens win Stanley Cups at a Toronto Maple Leafs-like pace. Montreal’s last Cup triumph was in 1992-93, and the ensuing 25-year drought is a franchise worst. Consider this bit of trivia — since 1993, the New York Rangers have won more Stanley Cups than Montreal.
