Going into the seventh month of the year, Montreal Canadiens fans (us A Winning Habit writers included) were excited to see who was going to join our organization. I was totally on board the Erik Karlsson train until he signed that ludicrous $11.5 million AAV contract to remain in the Bay area.
While I was never partial to signing Matt Duchene, he is a star player and many Habs fans would have loved to have seen him in Bleu Blanc Rouge. Duchene took a slight discount to sign in Nashville for 7 years, pocketing $8 million a season.
