Canadiens Prospect Lehkonen Wins SHL Championship

A few weeks ago, I wrote an article about Artturi Lehkonen and how he could be an internal option to fill a scoring role for the 2016-17 Montreal Canadiens. At the time, he had just come off a successful 2nd SHL season and the playoffs had just began for the Frolunda Indians.

Fast forward to the present, and Lehkonen may be more ready than even I had anticipated. Lehkonen played a pivotal scoring role during Frolunda’s run to the Le Mat Trophy as SHL Champions. He tied forward Ryan Lasch for the team and playoff lead in scoring with 19 points in 16 games.
