Brendan Gallagher signs six-year extension with the Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens and Brendan Gallagher have agreed to a six-year contract extension which will keep the forward with the team and avoid free agency.

The news comes a day after reports that talks between Gallagher and the team had broken off.

Like Jeff Petry, who was signed earlier in the off-season, Gallagher was set to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2020-21 season.
