Yoel Romero: I will ‘take the belt’ at middleweight before moving up to become light heavyweight champ

Yoel Romero has failed to capture the UFC middleweight title on two separate occasions, but ‘Soldier of God’ is not giving up just yet.

Romero, who dropped two losses to reigning middleweight champion Robert Whittaker, wants to win the 185-pound title before moving up in weight to conquer the light heavyweight division.

The Cuban revealed his long-term plan of becoming a UFC two-division champ to The Body Lock’s Michael Fiedel.

“Yeah, of course [I want to stay at middleweight]. Me, my coaches and my team, we are only thinking about winning the belt at 185.
