Lance Palmer may have lost his featherweight title at World Series of Fighting 26, but he still carried the show's payroll sheet.
Palmer earned an event-high $28,000 for his main event loss to Alexandre Almeida, according to figures released to MMA Fighting on Tuesday by the Nevada Athletic Commission.
Almeida, an unheralded 27-year-old Brazilian making his second appearance in WSOF, took the title with a narrow unanimous decision over Palmer in the night's headlining bout, which aired live Dec. 18 on NBC Sports Network. Almeida earned $12,000 for his upset win.
WSOF 26 was held at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, NV.
