UFC welterweight competitor Stephen Thompson discussed Conor McGregor’s potential move to welterweight.
By the time McGregor was crowned featherweight champion at UFC 194 last December, fans and pundits were already extrapolating his trajectory across multiple divisions. The confidently proclaimed that McGregor would claim the lightweight title next, followed by the welterweight crown, naturally.
Despite the unrealistic expectation that McGregor could possibly claim three UFC titles simultaneously, one of the competitors in the division, Stephen Thompson, believes the Irishman's venture to welterweight could be successful and ultimately beneficial to the division.
"[McGregor] walks around about 180 pounds and he looks massive," Thompson told Submission Radio.
