The wife of former UFC fighter Corey Hill confirmed to TMZ Sports on Friday that her husband had passed away after battling a devastating illness.
Conflicting reports emerged on Thursday on the status of Hill. Friends of the his posted on social media that the 36-year-old fighter passed away Thursday morning following a bout of fungal pneumonia. Reports even led to his former employers, the UFC, to release a statement indicating that Hill had passed, but they later retracted the statement.
As of late Thursday afternoon, Hill’s wife had said that contrary to reports, Hill was still alive and fighting for his life.
