Wellington Turman hospitalized with pneumonia, off of UFC’s February 6th card

Yet another UFC fighter was forced out of an upcoming bout due to respiratory issues, but the highly contagious coronavirus was not the culprit this time around.

Originally scheduled to take on Aliaskhab Khzriev at UFC Fight Night 184, middleweight Wellington Turman had to withdraw from the bout due to an atypical case of pneumonia, per Combate’s report.

A pulmonary infection caused by micro organisms not as common as the ones present in ordinary pneumonia cases makes Turman’s situation different from most examples of the sickness. Because of these conditions, Wellington was hospitalized in his hometown of Curitiba, Brazil since Wednesday.
