At this rate, Serghei Spivac vs. Shamil Gaziev will turn into a “cursed” matchup that never comes.
In September, the Ultimate Fighting Championship rebooked the two heavyweights against one another in what was to be the third time they were scheduled to fight. Back in May, they were paired up, only for their event to be restructured and delayed three weeks. Prior to that show, Gaziev withdrew from the fight, and Waldo Cortes-Acosta replaced him and beat Spivac.
While Spivac and Gaziev were once more set up to fight at UFC Qatar, also known as UFC Fight Night 265, that too fell through.
