The UFC’s return to Newark, New Jersey on August 3rd filled up quickly.
In an official press release on Tuesday, the promotion announced that former interim welterweight champion Colby Covington will take on former undisputed champion Robbie Lawler in the main event. They also announced the rest of the card along the way, including a co-main between light heavyweights Volkan Oezdemir and Ilir Latifi. The two were paired up for UFC Stockholm earlier this month, but Latifi withdrew during fight week after injuring his back.
Now when you look at this lineup of bouts, you would think this is mostly befitting of a European show.
