Ben Askren struggled mightily early on against Luis "Sapo" Santos in the ONE Championship main event in Manila, but the bigger story ended up being the chaotic way in which the fight ended.
Reigning ONE Championship welterweight champion Ben Askren was a big favorite to defeat Brazilian veteran Luis Santos in today's main event in Manila, but the undefeated Askren looked far from impressive in his latest title defense. Askren's takedowns repeatedly were stuffed by the challenger, who even countered and had Askren on his back with his own throws. Santos landed some good kicks and knees and Askren looked a bit frustrated as he was completely unable to get Santos to the ground.
