Video: Staph infection forces Patrick Cummins out of UFC Albany

The UFC Albany card has taken several hits to its lineup. Among the notable changes, Aljamain Sterling vs. Raphael Assuncao was scrapped due to a Sterling injury, Zubaira Tukhugov was pulled from his fight with Tiago Trator due to a potential USADA violation, and Tatiana Suarez withdrew from a matchup with Juliana Lima with an injury of her own. You can add Patrick Cummins to the list of fighters who won’t be competing next Friday.

Cummins (8-4) announced his removal from his fight vs. Gian Villante on Twitter, citing a staph infection. He’s fought just once this year, losing by TKO to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 198 in Brazil.
