That escalated quickly.
18-year-old boxing prospect Jesus Ramos (11-0, 10 KOs) made his United States debut on Saturday’s PBC on FS1 card in California. His opponent Rickey Edwards (12-4, 3 KOs) was his first clear step up in competition, and Ramos gave Edwards his first KO defeat in extremely humorous fashion.
In round three, Ramos threw a right hook that landed and then missed on another right hand. Edwards saw it fit to shake his head no, which would prove to be a “famous last gesture.” Next punch? A left hand from hell that caused Edwards to faceplant.
