One welterweight will suffer his first loss at UFC 194, as Warlley Alves takes on Colby Covington in Las Vegas on Dec. 12, the UFC announced.
Winner of the third season of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil as a middleweight, Alves (10-0) returns four months after a second-round submission win over Nordine Taleb at UFC 190. A training partner of 185-pound contender Ronaldo Souza, Alves is 2-0 since cutting down to welterweight.
Just like Alves, American Top Team’s Covington (8-0) is 3-0 under the UFC banner with a pair of finishes, stopping Anying Wang and Wagner Silva before scoring the biggest win of his professional career in May.
