Marcus McGhee (7-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will look to start his Octagon career with two straight wins when he meets JP Buys (9-5 MMA, 0-3 UFC) at a UFC Apex event in Las Vegas on Saturday, Aug. 12.
McGhee said his opponent is a “really good fighter.”
“I think he’s had some unfortunate shortcomings in his fights, but I definitely respect his skill set,” McGhee told MMASucka. “I think he has great striking and great grappling. At this level, this is an unforgiving game. If you look at his past opponents, they’ve all been top-caliber guys.
