UFC veteran Matt Wiman announces retirement after vicious slam KO loss

This past week has been a rocky one for veteran Matt Wiman. After suffering a brutal slam KO loss at the hands of Jordan Leavitt on Saturday’s UFC VEGAS 16 event, the 37-year-old was reportedly released from the UFC roster on Wednesday following three straight losses.

Now, Wiman is ready to move on from the sport he’s competed in for the last 16 and a half years of his life. In a text message he recently sent to MMA Fighting, Wiman announced his retirement from professional competition, while also clarifying how his UFC run really ended.
