The jiu-jitsu specialist picked up one of the most impressive victories at Saturday’s UFC Vegas 23 event, finishing Nina Ansaroff with a slick armbar submission in the first round of their main card bout. Dern’s finish earned her a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus, but she’s also facing a potentially lengthy injury suspension.
According to the list of medical suspensions released Tuesday by mixedmartialarts.com, Dern requires an X-ray on her right thumb.
