UFC Tampa: Joanna Jedrzejczyk insists ‘the fight is on’ despite rumored weight cut issues

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is still plans on weighing in this week and headlining UFC Tampa.

Saturday’s main event is rumored to be in jeopardy. Jedrzejczyk reportedly informed the UFC she would be unable to make the strawweight limit for her fight with Michelle Waterson, according to Combate.

Waterson allegedly refused to fight Jedrzejczyk at a catchweight and also turned down short-notice fights with Mackenzie Dern and Amanda Ribas. Waterson is believed to have then been offered two options: fight Jedrzejczyk at a catchweight or fight Jessica Andrade at UFC 244 instead. Following this, it was rumored that Angela Hill would step-up on short notice and fight Jedrzejczyk at a catchweight.
