While he came up short on the judges’ scorecards against Scott Holtzman at UFC Rio Rancho, lightweight veteran Jim Miller leaves New Mexico an extra $50,000 richer after earning yet another Fight of the Night award.
Miller and Holtzman battered each other for the better part of 15 minutes during their preliminary card scrap inside the Santa Ana Star Center. Though Miller managed to keep it fairly competitive early on, Holtzman’s athleticism shone through as the two reached the later rounds, giving him the edge on the scorecards. In the end, a blood-covered Miller could only applaud as the referee raised Holtzman’s hand in victory.
