UFC on Fox 28 headliners Josh Emmett (146) and Jeremy Stephens (146) both hit their featherweight marks on Friday morning, making their main event official. Emmett took the scales much faster than his counterpart, but at 10:29 a.m. ET, Stephens hit his mark without the towel, making Saturday night’s main event official.
Co-headliners Jessica Andrade and Tecia Torres, who may well be vying for the next shot at the UFC women’s strawweight title shot after the Rose Namajunas-Joanna Jedrzejczyk rematch in April, hit the scales back-to-back. Both fighters checked in at 116 pounds.
One half of the Fox Sports 1 undercard feature, former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao (136) successfully made it back to the division he once ruled.
