The UFC on ESPN 9 main card is in progress and the co-main event just witnessed #12 ranked heavyweight, Blagoy Ivanov, slug it out with the #13 ranked, Augusto Sakai. Ivanov was focused on his punches while Sakai was employing his kicks. It was a tightly contested affair, but it was Sakai who walked away with the split decision victory. That’s four up and four down for Sakai in the UFC.
Before that, Billy Quarantillo and Spike Carlyle waged absolute war for three rounds. Carlyle started strong and carried that momentum into the second round. Quarantillo began to rally and get himself back into the fight, and then he completely dominated Carlyle for the bulk of the final frame.
