Poirier and Hooker were matched up in the main event of UFC Vegas 4 on June 27 in Las Vegas and the two fan favorites lived up to their billing. For five rounds, they went back-and-forth on the feet, with Hooker taking the early advantage and looking like he might claim Poirier’s spot in the rankings.
However, the tide began to turn in round three and then in round four Poirier nearly ended the fight with his superior ground game.
