Sandhagen entered this main event bout with Moraes coming off of a loss to Aljamain Sterling that snapped a 5-0 start to his UFC career. Both fighters were looking to stay in the running for a title shot in the increasingly crowded bantamweight division, but it was Sandhagen who would make a statement in the second round.
After a competitive first five minutes, Sandhagen unleashed a spinning heel kick that banged right off the top of Moraes’ head, stunning the former World Series of Fighting champion and sending him stumbling to the canvas.
