Leandro Silva (19-2-1 1NC) picked up a hard-fought victory at UFC Fight Night 78 inside Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico, earlier this evening (Sat., Nov. 21, 2015) on FOX Sports 1.
Silva defeated Efrain Escudero (24-10) by unanimous decision in a closely contested battle. All three judges scored the bout 29-28. The fight was even throughout, but Silva took control in the final round with his grappling, which was likely the difference maker.
Escudero spent the first minute of the fight cutting off the Octagon in attempt to pressure Silva, but "Buscape" continued to circle, landing several low kicks and a punch to the body.
