Flyweight Luana Carolina shrieked in pain as the “Queen of Violence” Ariane Lipski applied a kneebar early in their UFC Fight Island 2 meeting. The resulting damage could keep her out of the octagon for quite some time.
Carolina led the list of medical suspensions issued by the UFC after Fight Island 2 this past Saturday, drawing a potential six-month term that can be lifted if she provides a clean MRI on her left knee.
In other suspensions, four-time UFC title challenger Joseph Benavidez received a 45-day suspension after he was choked unconscious by new flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo in the headliner of Fight Island 2.
