The light heavyweight veteran not only earned a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his Von Flue choke finish of Michal Oleksiejczuk at UFC Copenhagen on Saturday, he also tied a couple of UFC records.
With his 10th UFC finish, “OSP” is now tied with Jon Jones and Glover Teixiera for the most in promotional history, and his fifth UFC submission put him into a tie with Jones, Teixeira, and Misha Cirkunov on that all-time list.
Saint Preux also owns the record for the most Von Flue choke (named after fighter Jason Von Flue) finishes in UFC history, with four, prompting many to have re-named the maneuver “the Von Preux choke.
