The UFC’s debut on ESPN was a mixed bag. There were some great fights, a controversial title defense, and the guy everyone loves to hate – Greg Hardy – fell in about the most unceremonious of fashions. However, there were also the same commercials over and again, pacing even worse than what FS1 was providing, and Stephan A. Smith. Yep, ESPN is pretending the same dude who defended Carmelo Anthony time and again as an elite basketball player despite the evidence indicating otherwise is now offering his “expertise” on MMA. To say the groans elicited from the UFC fans strongly indicates those same fans are not happy with the way things are kicking off in 2019.
