UFC 221: Yoel Romero and Luke Rockhold receive six-month medical suspensions

Top-ranked middleweight contender Yoel Romero might be ‘made of steel’, but ‘Soldier of God’ is medically suspended for six months unless cleared by an orthopedic doctor, as reported by mixedmartialarts.com

Romero, 40, knocked out Luke Rockhold in the UFC 223 main event at the Perth Arena in Australia and, despite initially fearing a broken leg, will need medical clearance for his left middle finger.

Rockhold, the former middleweight champion, has also been suspended for six months and will need to see a dentist for medical clearance.

UFC 221 co-headliners Curtis Blaydes and Mark Hunt have also been suspended: Blaydes will need to see an orthopedist to avoid a 180 day medical suspension and ‘Super Samoan’ is forced to sit on the sidelines for 45 days due to an ear laceration.
