UFC 211 medical suspensions: Junior dos Santos, Yair Rodriguez out 45 days

Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos and featherweight prospect Yair Rodriguez were among several fighters to receive extended medical suspensions in the aftermath of UFC 211, according to information released Monday by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Dos Santos suffered a grisly first-round knockout loss to UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in the night’s main event, while Rodriguez fell short in his contendership bid against Frankie Edgar, losing via doctor’s stoppage between the second and third round due to damage Rodriguez sustained below his left eye. As a result of performances, both dos Santos and Rodriguez will be forced to sit out a minimum of 45 days before returning to active competition.
