LAS VEGAS -- Demetrious Johnson took another step toward UFC immortality on Satuday night. And he wasted little time getting there.
The UFC flyweight champion, the only titleholder the division has ever known, has stated his biggest career goal is catching Anderson Silva's record of 10 successful title defenses.
After steamrolling the previously undefeated Henry Cejudo at UFC 197, Johnson's just two defenses away from catching the longtime middleweight champion. Johnson's TKO victory over Cejudo in just 2:49 was his eighth successful defense, tying him with former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones for third-most all-time.
