Following a three-fight stint at 125 pounds, Brad Pickett will return to bantamweight against one of the division’s hottest prospects, undefeated Thomas Almeida.
Pickett and Almeida will meet on the undercard of UFC 189 “Aldo vs. McGregor,” which takes place July 11 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced the matchup on Monday.
Pickett, who has competed as high up as 155 pounds, struggled against speedier opposition as a flyweight, dropping back-to-back decisions to Ian McCall and Chico Camus in his last two outings.
