Chael Sonnen has a new opponent for the 2017 edition of Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championship (ADCC).
Originally booked to meet Ricardo Liborio and then Frank Mir, Sonnen will now take on Leo Vieira in Finland, the promotion announced following a report by Graciemag. ADCC 2017 takes place at The Espoo Metro Areena on Sept. 22-24.
Vieira is a two-time ADCC gold medalist at the -66kg (145 pounds) division. Sonnen, who fights in the light heavyweight division (205 pounds) in MMA, is coming off a unanimous decision win over Wanderlei Silva in Bellator.
