The former Ring of Combat titleholder boosted his stock in the Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight division when he dispatched “The Ultimate Fighter Brazil” Season 3 winner Warlley Alves with a triangle choke in the second round of their UFC Fight Night 164 prelim on Nov. 16, 2019 at Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil. An accomplished Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, Alvez capitulated 1:22 into Round 2. It remains the only submission defeat of his 22-fight career.

Brown found himself in jeopardy almost immediately.
