“Marretinha” put away Trey Waters with a shoulder choke—it was a worthy salute to Jason Von Flue—in the first round of their welterweight showcase during Week 7 of Dana White’s Contender Series on Sept. 6, 2022 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Waters, who entered the cage with a perfect 6-0 record, clocked out 4:13 into Round 1.
Bonfim chipped away with an educated jab and power punches to the head and body, hunting for openings from the outside.
