Season 24 of the UFC's hit reality show, The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), carries golden implications.
According to a press release issued Tuesday from the UFC, 16 flyweight fighters will compete, with the winner receiving a title shot at the show's finale in December.
This marks the third time the reality show has carved a path to the title. In Season 4, Matt Serra won the tournament and a shot at Georges St-Pierre's welterweight title, and Carla Esparza captured the inaugural strawweight title in Season 20.
Currently, Demetrious Johnson – who faces Henry Cejudo April 23 at UFC 197 – holds the UFC flyweight championship.
