Study: UFC 229 Generates Record-Breaking Event Revenue for Las Vegas

Post-fight melee aside, the Khabib Nurmagomedov-Conor McGregor rivalry has proven to be quite a boon for Sin City.

According to a study conducted by research firm Applied Analysis, UFC 229 generated $86.4 million in economic output for the Las Vegas Metropolitan area — the largest economic impact for a UFC event to date. UFC 229 took place at the T-Mobile Arena and saw Nurmagomedov defend his lightweight crown with a fourth-round submission of McGregor in the evening’s main event.

While the aftermath was marred by a post-fight brawl that involved the main event combatants as well as their camps, the event was otherwise a smashing success, reportedly drawing in the neighborhood of 2.
