After Tyron Woodley successfully defended his UFC welterweight title against Darren Till at UFC 228 last Saturday, Stephen Thompson rallied for a trilogy fight with Woodley on social media. It didn’t take long for Colby Covington to respond to Thompson’s comments, labelling him a ‘virgin’ and a ‘choirboy.’
Thompson (14-3-1) has had two shots at Woodley’s 170-pound title, fighting to a majority draw against him in November 2016 at UFC 205, and suffering a split decision loss to “T-Wood” at UFC 209 in March of last year.
Despite going 1-4 in his last five fights, Thompson still believes he has “unfinished business” with Woodley.
