Stephen Thompson not worried about Conor McGregor taking over UFC’s welterweight division: ‘He’s too small’

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight contender Stephen Thompson will retain his place atop the 170-pound rankings after battling Tyron Woodley to a draw in the UFC 205 pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event, which took place earlier this month in New York City.

The fact that “Wonderboy” and “The Chosen One” will have to run it back will likely keep two-division champion Conor McGregor from invading the welterweight class, a place he seemed destined to end up after this little kerfuffle.

Not that it matters, as the six-foot Thompson insists the five-foot, eight-inch McGregor is “too small” to hijack the division.
