Sheymon Moraes announces release from UFC

The Brazilian featherweight on Thursday announced via Instagram that he’s been released by the industry-leader after five fights.

”Hey guys, unfortunately I’m no longer part of UFC anymore,” he wrote. “But that’s it, life goes on!”

Moraes ends his UFC run with a 2-3 record that includes back-to-back losses. Most recently, he suffered a first-round knockout to Andre Fili in July at UFC Sacramento.

The 28-year-old standout signed with the UFC after a run in the WSOF (now rebranded as PFL), where he fought unsuccessfully for the title then held by current UFC contender Marlon Moraes.
