Rudson Caliocane vacates Titan FC belt after suffering brainstem hemorrhage

Rudson Caliocane is no longer the Titan FC bantamweight champion. In fact, there’s a chance he may never compete in mixed martial arts again.

The 26-year-old prospect entered the Future MMA cage in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Oct. 19, and lost a decision to Matheus Mendonca. The defeat snapped a seven-fight winning streak and gave him a brainstem hemorrhage, he announced through a GoFundMe campaign.

Caliocane, who holds a 7-2 record in MMA, decided to vacate his Titan FC belt while he focuses on recovering from the condition.

“With the approval of Titan FC, I took a fight last week in Sao Paulo, Brazil, unfortunately I suffered a hemorrhage of my brain stem,” Caliocane wrote in a statement.
