Another opportunity to step forward in the Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s strawweight division awaits Amanda Lemos, and she does not intend to let it pass by.
The former Jungle Fight champion will draw her second headlining assignment inside the Octagon when she battles Marina Rodriguez in the UFC Fight Night 214 main event on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Originally scheduled for Oct. 22, the match was instead shifted to a higher-profile position two weeks later—a move to which both women had to adapt.
“We were supposed to be the co-main event [at UFC 280],” Lemos told Sherdog.
