One of the toughest and most durable welterweights in the sport of mixed martial arts is calling it a career.
Rick Story announced over social media Thursday that he’s stepping away from the sport, retiring with a record of 21-10.
Story is best remembered for his early run in the UFC in 2009-10. After dropping his UFC debut via decision to John Hathaway, Story rattled off six consecutive victories, the last two being significant wins over Johny Hendricks and Thiago Alves. While he never quite reached those heights again, he did put together three straight wins from 2014-16.
